With decades of experience spanning renewable energy, hydrogen, nuclear, and process safety, Dr. Bater’s insights will strengthen Phi’s commitment to delivering safe, sustainable, and innovative infrastructure solutions.


Expertise Across Diverse Energy Sectors

Dr. Bater’s illustrious career includes contributions to renewable energy sectors such as hydro, wind, solar, mines and landfill gas. He has also played a critical role in auditing nuclear facilities and overseeing regulated radiological protection for the Environment Agency (EA). Additionally, his expertise extends to applying process safety management principles to cutting-edge technologies including hydrogen, underscoring his commitment to advancing sustainable and safe energy practices.

1.     QHSE Excellence:

Dr. Bater will provide strategic guidance to ensure Phi’s projects meet the highest standards in quality, safety, and environmental compliance.


2.    Renewable Energy Expertise:

With practical experience in auditing large-scale renewable and hydrogen projects, he will support Phi’s integration of sustainable energy solutions into its Sustainable Technology Campuses™ (STCs).


3.      Thought Leadership in Process Safety:

As the author of the revision of the Energy Institute’s process safety management framework and founder of Safepath Leadership Ltd, Dr. Bater’s expertise in safety audits and cultural change programs will add significant value to Phi’s operations.


A Passion for Education and Innovation

Dr. Bater has also contributed to academic excellence as a lecturer and researcher at the Open University. In this role, he has authored study guides, edited course materials, and taught both undergraduate and postgraduate students, focusing on energy and sustainability. His blend of practical and theoretical knowledge makes him uniquely equipped to address the complex challenges of sustainable infrastructure development.
